Varun founded Fisk Tech in 2021 on the cornerstones of technology, innovation and safe operations to deliver better value for customers, employees and society.

He started his career with A.P. Moller- Maersk in 2000 as an engineer trainee and his career spanned a number of operational, technical and leadership positions in the offshore Oil & Gas and Shipping industry. These include Vessel Manager, Regional Commercial Manager, Global Key Account Manager, Management Consultant and most recently Head of HSSE-Asia Pacific & Africa for Maersk Drilling.

Varun had established Maersk’s underwater cleaning and maintenance team in Singapore in 2011, shortly after his tenure with SCAMP underwater services in 2010. This drove his passion and deeper understanding of customer needs and the business.

Varun holds an Executive Master’s degree in Finance from INSEAD, a MBA from Manchester Business School and a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic.

He has also been selected for many executive leadership courses from Maersk and INSEAD.

Karl joined Fisk Tech in 2021 as a co-founder and the Company’s Chief Operations Officer as he believes that his experience and love for the industry will give our clients a trusted name, commitment and work closely with them on all subsea technical solutions.

With more than 15 years of experience in the Shipping and Oil & Gas industries and having worked with one of the world’s largest ship owner, a leading classification society and a world leading drilling contractor, Karl brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge.

A Naval Architect by profession, he is passionate about designing ships, increasing efficiency of existing vessels and innovation. Karl is also an experienced and certified Project Manager, having managed several new-building and retrofit projects. He has solid operational experience assisting technical managers with ship repair proposals. He is well versed in international maritime regulations, class rules and the International Environmental Management Standard (ISO14001:2015).

James is originally from Gibraltar and joined Fisk Tech in early 2022 as he is a strong supporter of the value proposition and principles on which the company operates.

He has been working in the biofouling/hull maintenance industry for over 35 years and is 3rd generation family member linked to this trade.

Through his extensive career James has worked both on the shipowner’s side with “AP Møller Maersk” based out of Copenhagen, as well as the service provider side with various companies.

He has been involved in research and development projects for the improvement of underwater hull cleaning technologies.

Under his guidance and supervision as CEO for Cleanhull, James’ team were the first hull cleaning company to be allowed to conduct cleanings at the very busy container terminals in Singapore which had never been allowed to be done before due to the strict requirements from the local authorities.

Through his many years working in the industry, James prides himself in the attention to detail and strives to bring a very different service provider experience to Fisk Tech’s many clients.

Being based out of Copenhagen we can bring a very personal relationship with our clients there, and allows us to operate on both time zones effectively.
