The effective cleaning and maintenance of a ship’s hull and propeller provides significant reduction to the added resistance from biofouling, in addition to considerable savings to your organisations’ profitability.

In 2010, one of the world’s largest container shipping companies began researching the impact of hull fouling build-up on a ship’s speed. After 5 years collecting data from over 1500 ships they discovered that effectively cleaning a hull could save between 7‑14% of fuel and polishing the propeller could save between 1‑2% of fuel. After establishing a dedicated underwater cleaning and maintenance team, the company achieved annual savings of around $75m.

Fisk Tech’s range of maintenance services assist you in achieving these savings, whilst keeping you up date on the progress of scheduled maintenance jobs. In lowering your overall fuel consumption, you also lower your carbon footprint.

Speed improvements of 2.5‑4.5% and fuel savings of 8‑15% can be realised with effective hull cleaning and propeller polishing.

Maintenance of this type has seen annual savings in the region of $75m for a fleet.
